JOB PLACEMENT

Indigo is unlike any college or post-secondary school.  Our priority is to train the very best dental assistants, then place them in great jobs within our network of offices.

We form class sizes based on actual job openings in the Indigo Network, only admit those students we think are capable of filling dental assistant positions, and then train them with all the skills and qualities our dental industry experts have identified as important for today’s modern offices. We’re so confident Indigo graduates will land a great job that we offer the Indigo Difference.

Where Indigo Graduates Thrive: A Glimpse into a Professional Future

We are not just educating the next generation of dental assistants but paving the way for them to step into thriving careers within diverse and professional dental office settings. Our graduates find their calling across various dental offices, each offering unique experiences and learning opportunities. Here’s what you can expect:

Typical Working Hours

Our graduates step into roles that offer both stability and flexibility. Most dental offices operate during the traditional working hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule. However, some offices also offer shifts during early mornings, evenings, or weekends to accommodate patients’ needs or work four- and ten-hour shifts, providing our graduates the flexibility to choose hours that best fit their lifestyle.

A Professional Environment

Indigo graduates are welcomed into professional environments where quality care, patient satisfaction, and team collaboration are paramount. They work in state-of-the-art facilities equipped with the latest dental technologies and practices. These settings are designed for optimal patient care and foster a learning-rich environment for continuous professional growth. Our graduates are respected team members, contributing significantly to patient care, office efficiency, and creating a positive atmosphere.

Types of Dental Offices

Family Dentistry Practices: These offices serve patients of all ages, providing comprehensive care that ranges from routine cleanings to more complex procedures. Working in a family dentistry office allows our graduates to experience a wide range of dental care practices and build relationships with families over time.

Pediatric Dental Offices: Specializing in treating children from infancy through adolescence, pediatric dental offices are lively, kid-friendly environments. Our graduates play a crucial role in making dental visits a positive experience for young patients, teaching them the importance of oral health in a fun and engaging way.

Orthodontic Practices: Focused on diagnosing, preventing, and treating dental and facial irregularities, orthodontic offices are where our graduates assist in the transformative journey of creating beautiful smiles. They support orthodontists with braces, Invisalign treatments, and other corrective procedures, offering a rewarding experience as they witness patients gain newfound confidence.

Cosmetic Dentistry Offices: In these settings, our graduates assist in procedures designed to enhance the appearance of the mouth, teeth, gums, and overall smile. From teeth whitening to veneers and bonding, they are at the forefront of cosmetic treatments that make a significant impact on patients’ self-esteem and quality of life.

Specialty Practices: Some of our graduates find their niche in specialized areas such as periodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery. These offices offer an in-depth look into specific aspects of dental care, presenting challenges and learning opportunities in specialized treatments and surgeries.

Indigo Institute is proud to prepare our students for successful careers in these varied settings, ensuring they have the skills, knowledge, and confidence to excel wherever their professional journey takes them. Our commitment to their future is unwavering as we continue to foster partnerships with dental offices across these specialties, guaranteeing a rich professional path for every Indigo graduate.

Advancing Your Career

After graduating from the dental assistant program and getting placed in your first job as a dental assistant, you may consider advancing your career even further by becoming an expanded duty dental assistant (EDDA).

An EDDA is a dental assistant who has obtained essential skills and passed the state’s licensing exam, enabling them to perform a wider variety of skills than an unregistered dental assistant.

The Indigo Difference

The Indigo Network + The Indigo Placement Assistance = The Indigo Difference

Everything we do at Indigo is shaped by the one question our students care about most — “How can I land a great job?” Unlike other schools, which are more focused on collecting tuition than preparing students for employment, we measure our success at Indigo based on how well you accomplish your end goal of finding a great job you enjoy. We accomplish this mission by leveraging the “Indigo Network” with placement assistance. Here’s how it works:

The Indigo Network – leading local dental offices that support students in three critical ways:

1

Network offices help shape curriculum to make sure students contribute on day one of employment

2

Network offices host externships, providing students with critical real-world experience prior to employment.

3

Network offices post open positions — actual jobs — that are available for student application upon graduation
